An immersive art exhibition exploring Virgin Islands identity, cultural memory, and creative resistance opens on St. Croix this week as Eliana L. Schuster-Brown presents the fifth installment of the Prolific exhibition series.

Prolific V: The Lost Gallery opens February 21, 2026, and runs through March 9, 2026, at 4047 La Grande Princesse, upstairs in the former Oscar’s Refrigeration building, now Oscar’s Commercial Center. The exhibition is described as an evolving cultural platform rooted in Virgin Islands identity, creative expression, and self-love as a cultural practice.

According to the release, Prolific V invites the public into a multi-sensory exhibition experience that blends visual art, digital media, installation, sound design, and interactive storytelling. Caribbean artists and cultural storytellers are brought together to examine what it means to protect identity, memory, and artistic legacy in a rapidly changing world.

Since its founding, the Prolific series has grown into a respected platform for both emerging and established artists within the Virgin Islands’ arts community. The fifth installment builds on that foundation by centering work that reflects intention, care, and devotion to art that resists erasure and affirms cultural presence.

This year’s exhibition features digital works by Kirk Remedy Rojas, a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores futurism, memory, and cultural survival through immersive visual storytelling. Rojas’ digital interpretations connect past, present, and future, serving as a narrative anchor reinforcing the exhibition’s themes of preservation, transmission, and cultural continuity.

At the heart of Prolific V is a speculative narrative centered on “The Fireborn,” described as a symbolic lineage representing those who rise across generations when cultural identity is at risk. Through this lens, the exhibition explores cultural preservation, self-definition, and the forces that shape how Caribbean people are seen, remembered, and understood.

The exhibition also incorporates interactive cultural installations. Visitors will have opportunities to create personal “Guardians” inspired by the ancestral presence of Caribbean Moko Jumbies, traditionally associated with spiritual watchfulness, heightened awareness, and community protection.

“Prolific has always been about more than showing art,” said creator Eliana L. Schuster-Brown of Eliana B Artistry Studio. “It’s about creating spaces where Caribbean people can see themselves fully: our beauty, our complexity, our history, and our future. Prolific V asks us to think about how culture survives, and what role each of us plays in carrying it forward.”

The exhibition blends traditional cultural references with contemporary technology to create what organizers describe as an experience that is both ancestral and forward-facing.

Visitors can expect:
• Immersive Caribbean visual and installation art
• Original digital storytelling and projection experiences
• Interactive cultural participation installations
• Multi-sensory sound and environmental design
• Narrative-driven exhibition flow exploring past, present, and future Virgin Islands identity

As part of the exhibition, Eliana B Artistry is launching a community art contest aimed at uplifting emerging and established artists across the Virgin Islands. The contest invites students in grades 7 through 12 to submit original artwork either directly to Eliana B Artistry or through their school’s art program.

Submissions should respond to themes including cultural identity, self-love through heritage, Caribbean futurism, memory, resistance, and preservation, with an emphasis on the future of the Virgin Islands. Selected artwork will be featured in Prolific V, and public voting will determine “The People’s Choice.” The winning artist will receive a free month of art class and an undisclosed cash prize. Submission details are available via email at elianabartistry@gmail.com.

The opening reception will take place February 21, 2026. During the exhibition run, weekday visits are available by appointment by calling 801-390-2225 to schedule a walkthrough. Weekend hours are 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Organizers also encourage individuals and organizations interested in sponsorships or in-kind contributions to reach out via email.

Prolific V continues the series’ stated mission of positioning self-love as a cultural responsibility and honoring the belief that protecting identity is an active, collective practice.
