Government offices across the Virgin Islands will close for three days next week in observance of the Easter holiday, with normal operations set to resume on Tuesday, April 7, according to an announcement from Governor Albert Bryan Jr.
The administration said the following dates will be observed as official government holidays:
Thursday, April 2, 2026 — Holy Thursday
Friday, April 3, 2026 — Good Friday
Monday, April 6, 2026 — Easter Monday
Government offices are expected to reopen on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
In announcing the closure, Governor Bryan said the Easter observance offers the territory a period for both reflection and renewal.
“Easter is a time of deep spiritual meaning, renewal, and hope for many in our community,” Governor Bryan said. “I encourage all Virgin Islanders to take this time to reflect on the significance of the season and to enjoy meaningful moments with family and loved ones.”
The governor also pointed to the broader values associated with the holiday period, emphasizing faith, unity, and community.
“As we pause from our daily responsibilities, let us embrace the spirit of compassion, gratitude, and togetherness that defines this season,” he added.
Residents are being encouraged to plan ahead for interruptions in government services during the holiday closure and to use the period to celebrate safely and responsibly.
