The U.S. Virgin Islands will celebrate its agricultural heritage and regional connections when the 54th Annual Agriculture and Food Fair, known as Agrifest, returns to St. Croix in February, with organizers highlighting the growing role of technology in modern farming.

Agrifest 2026 is scheduled for February 14–16 at the Rudolph Shulterbrandt Agricultural Complex in Estate Lower Love, St. Croix, under the theme “Agriculture and Technology: An Ideal Mix in 2026.” The fair will run daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with opening ceremonies set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 14.

Admission prices are $8 for adults, $5 for children, and $6 for senior citizens, and organizers say the event is designed to be a family-friendly experience that blends education, entertainment, and community fellowship.

A key highlight of the weekend will be the Farmer of the Year award presentations, which will take place on Saturday. Throughout the three-day fair, attendees can also expect continuous entertainment from a wide range of performers, including the Superior Court Rising Stars Steel Orchestra, Hartatak International, St. Patrick’s School Steelpan Orchestra, Partners for Strings of St. Thomas, Xpress Band, Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights, 411 Live Band, I-Land Boyz Pan Experience, La Fuerza VZ, Guardians of Culture Mokojumbies, AY AY Cultural Dancers, and the Fair Wear Extravaganza, among others.

Beyond the stage, Agrifest 2026 will feature agricultural exhibits and demonstrations, competitive events, games, and prize-winning animals. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a variety of local foods and beverages while reconnecting with friends and family from across the territory and the wider Caribbean.

Participation in the fair extends beyond the U.S. Virgin Islands. In addition to exhibitors and competitors from St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John, guests are expected from Antigua, Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, Guyana, St. Lucia, and Grenada.

Agrifest Board President and Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Louis E. Petersen Jr. said the 2026 theme reflects the increasing importance of innovation in agriculture and its potential to shape the future of the industry.

“Our 2026 theme reflects the importance of modern scientific innovations and their role in realizing maximum agricultural productivity for the benefit of all,” Petersen said. “The interface between these two sectors is not only essential for agricultural productivity and success, but also for encouraging and attracting the younger generation to pursue careers in agriculture.”

Organizers say the Agriculture and Food Fair remains a cornerstone event for promoting Virgin Islands agriculture and fostering greater interest in farming and food systems among residents and visitors alike. Major sponsors for Agrifest 2026 include the V.I. Department of Agriculture, the University of the Virgin Islands School of Agriculture, and the V.I. Lottery.
